A Shameful case

On Sunday, February 25, 2018, as a bolt of the blue, tens of millions (maybe hundreds of millions) of people were hit by the report of detention of Salih Muslim,

 co-founder and until last year the co-chairman of the Kurdish political party in Syria. The PYD Party has built itself as the only effective force against IS-freaks, and it has come into the awareness of hundreds of millions of people on our planet!

The world will not forget easily about those brave, beautiful, brave female warriors who stood up against the slayers with bare hands!

And it was their political representative who was arrested by the Police in the homeland of Masaryk, Smetana, Dvořák, Kafka, Čapek, Nezval, Kundera, in the heart of the Mother of cities, which entered the memory of mankind with its immeasurable beauty, nobility and culture.

In the homeland of Jan Palach, in the city where he sacrificed himself for freedom of his nation, and right in that country and in the same city, another equally brave warrior was arrested, also a fighter for freedom of his nation ….

The blow that was given to this otherwise beautiful country through the arresting of Salih Muslim cannot be healed easily.

The detention of Salih Muslim has brought millions and millions of people on our planet to thinking and reflecting whether their previous impressions from the Czech Republic are real and what is actually happening there …

They did not realize that the beautiful country they had admired after the fall of totalitarianism was not given democracy or justice.

The justice that is the basis of human coexistence.

For all those years, the citizens of Western Europe  were made by their media an governments to believe that the countries of Eastern Europe got rid of totalitarianism due to them and that the people in Eastern Europe finally, after so many tribulations, have been living in democracy an justice… But they must not get any information about the real situation, about the fact that the socio-economic system, that has been established there, is based only on personal benefits for individuals and that this once productive nation has been alienated from their own identity.

They do not know that this nation was given neither the possibility nor the means for their development towards a real democracy and the rule of law but that everything was done to plunder – all their material heritage first and then the mental one… and that their “elites” have begun to behave in that beautiful country like in a jungle.

What prof. Jiří Hajek, Hanzelka and Zikmund, Dr. Qasemla tried to do, and what I have been trying for decades – as a student of the Faculty of Medicine I translated works by Karel Čapek into Kurdish and translated – with the help of Jaroslav Kořán – Kurdish proverbs, poems, fairy tales and stories into Czech and tried to build friendship between Czech and Kurdish nations. It’s all over, like a lightning strike, through arresting of Mr. Salih Muslim … Just because an “authority” seemingly wanted to get some extra money?

As usual, even after this damage to the intellectual heritage of the Czech nation, nothing will happen. There will be no  investigative commission of  Czech parliament , nor any effective activity  of government bodies that are law-abiding as the GIBS (division for criminal investigation of police members) or the Public Prosecutor’s office …not even just to pretend some activities in public.

They will say among themselves “Well, what?” They wanted to sell the Kurd, and it simply did not work and “things will go on” and the scar in the minds of millions and millions… none of the responsible officials will ever be interested in the blow to the intellectual heritage!

 This is how the civilizations that we read about in “smart books” collapse, and it has become our fate to witness that decomposition by ourselves!
